Lungkar Monastery is located in the Nagchu area of the Tibet autonomous region. An ancient Tibetan Bon Buddhist center was established around 1980 by Khanpo Nyima Lodo and Lobpon Tshultrim Namdag. Many practitioners from different locations came to this monastery seeking more in-depth and advanced study.  Two different sections were established: the debate or dialectic school and the meditation school. In the 1990's, the center ceased to continue for various reasons. However, after 2018, a new temple has been built  and the education center has resumed it's vital role.
