A Garden of Yogis’ Delight: A Note on Calm Abiding, Special Insight, the One Pointed Concentrations that Results in Achievement of the Seventeen Stages of the Form Realm speaks of calm abiding and special insight. Concerning calm abiding an explanation is made by referring to and quoting numerous sutric, tantric and Dzogchen texts, and when dealing with special insight an explanation is made with a special emphasis on the
special insight by referring to sutric teachings. Though the practices of special insight, one pointed concentration and, the nature of the mind of the formless realm are common to all perceiving the meaning of the texts dealing with the subjects is a difficult one and upon close analysis the positions of scholars on the matters vary from one another. Therefore, here, I took upon myself the task of negating others views, presenting and defending my view regarding the subjects by referring to reputed scholarly works and elaborately explaining the one pointed concentration from amongst the three trainings. This is the eight book I authored and of the published works this is the seventh. This work was published by Bod dang chos bon drang srong ’char ’god khang in 2013. With patronage of Drachen Bechon Gayu, the president of Zhang-zhug Zirig Association, this book saw the light of publication. He further took the task of distributing the book for free to the institutions who are interested in study of the subjects discussed in the book, and Patsang Geshe Samten Gyaltsen helped me with layout of the book. I thank them for the kind assistance they extended, for their help and assistance are monumental in having me presenting this book the readers.
